"Children"
"Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it" ~ Proverbs 22:6
You have probably heard this verse before and then wondered, "But what about my child who has abandoned me and the faith in Christ?" Raising children is not an easy thing, and some of you still suffer pain from the choices of your children. But I encourage you to listen to the promise here regarding "when they are old". A child who has been properly trained may depart for a season, even a long season. But Solomon's own life is proof that in the end, the foundation he was given by his parents is what drew him back into wise living. Our responsibility is not to worry about the end result, but to trust God for it. Instead, let us focus our efforts on what we are commanded to do - train up the children. That responsibility belongs to not only parents, but everyone in society who ever interacts with children. This week at Friendship, we'll talk about the foundation of "Children". What was God's original intention for children? How does He use them as an example to all of us? And what is our role in training them up? These questions and more will be discussed and answered in this weekend's message as our lead pastor returns to the pulpit from vacation. Join us and learn to look at children through the eyes of our Savior!
