"I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws" ~ Ezekiel 36:26-27

God's been talking about new life for us ever since we first fell into sin. This wasn't a brand new idea that came with Jesus; it was God's plan and His promise from the beginning. But then there is that pesky thing called "free will" that gets in the way. Will we surrender to the change God wants to instill in us, or will we stubbornly refuse and then spend all our energy doing what actually cannot be done - repairing our broken foundation? Truth be told, we are beyond the point of repair. Sin has done irreparable damage to the original foundation we were given at the creation of mankind. But praise God that we don't have to stay in it. What God offers us in Christ is not a quick fix through a few minor tweaks, but a brand new foundation. Out with the old and in with the new!
