My God and My All

"Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe His commands, His laws, and His decrees that I am giving you this day" ~ Deuteronomy 8:11

I think that Moses, through God revealing it to him, considered how easy it is for the blessed human being to forget the source of his blessings, especially when just a little bit of trouble comes along. The Israelites did this constantly, being miraculously blessed by God one moment, only to forget about it and grumble to Him the next time they are in need. Today, we come to God constantly with what we need and come to Him when we want to complain about something we blame Him for, but do we ever stop to just say "thank you"? Do we ever just rejoice at the fact that He saved us and brought us into a relationship with Him, so that we can even ask for what we need anytime? Praying with a joyous attitude is one step to being joyful in all circumstances, as we are commanded in the Bible. This week at Friendship, we will talk about the need to rejoice in our prayers, even when we are suffering. The title "My God and My All" describes the attitude with which we should approach Him, that because of His goodness towards us already, He is all that we need. We hope you'll join us not only because of this important message, but also to hear about God's work in the lives of our sisters in Christ from New Life for Girls!
