"Yours is the Power"
"Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power" ~ Ephesians 6:10
You might be familiar with the above verse as the beginning of the section where Paul urges believers to "put on the full armor of God" as a defense against the devil's schemes. It's a wonderful and encouraging section of Scripture, yet this verse could stand on its own. Just consider the many other sources to which people turn for answers when they are weak or afraid. Consider the places you have turned, and yet every Christian must at some point come back to the reality that the Lord is our only hope and defense. We don't get stronger by trying to become the armor, because it's not ours but His. We don't find strength in gaining the power for ourselves, because it's not ours but His. This week at Friendship, we will be looking at the phrase "Yours is the Power" from our Lord's Prayer. We have to remember it's His, not our own, which will carry us. We'll discuss His power shown through holiness, through His partnership with us, and even through our weaknesses. Whatever you are currently facing in your life, please join us to be encouraged and reminded of His power available to you through Jesus!
