A New Wardrobe
The old adage is that "actions speak louder than words". Most of us would agree that we can determine some things about others by paying attention to their body language, behavior, and other nonverbal clues. Another way that we can gather information about someone without hearing them is by looking at their wardrobe. For example, I can tell what sports teams you like if you support them by wearing their jerseys or accessories. I might be able to determine places where you have traveled by the t-shirts you where from those locations. I could possibly even determine your favorite colors and styles, and all of this without even knowing your name! In the same way, others can learn about our relationship with Jesus and our desire to obey him based on our wardrobe. This week at Friendship, we'll discuss what it means to "clothe ourselves with Jesus Christ", as the Apostle Paul tells us to do. We'll see how this has to do with much more than just our physical attire. Wearing Jesus is a lifestyle that is based on the truth of what he did for us. This message will have you laughing, possibly crying, and definitely reflecting on how to apply it to your life.
