"For all who are Far Off"

Jesus called out to them, "Come, follow Me, and I will show you how to fish for people!". And they left their nets at once and followed Him ~ Matthew 4:19-20

Why are you reading this? I believe it's because you have been called by Jesus. You answered the call to be part of Friendship Community Church by someone or by the Holy Spirit leading you here. You then answered the call to be put on the list to receive these emails. So, here we are, about to explore Acts 10 as a church family guided by the Holy Spirit of God. Take a minute or two and spend time in prayer asking the Holy Spirit to remind you of what it was like before your "Road to Damascus" moment, like the one Saul had which we read about last week in Acts 9. If you did that, what was revealed to you? How was your life? Were you happy? Joyful? Lost? Imagine still living like you never met Jesus. I would not wish that on anyone, whether far away or near to me. So now, I want to share with you what Jesus commanded of those who want to follow Him and be His disciples: We are to go out and baptize the nations (see Matthew 28:18-20). This weekend at Friendship, we will be exploring what it means when the Lord calls us to go out. The message is titled, "For All Who Are Far Off". This comes from Acts 2:39, which tells us, "This promise is to you, to your children, and to those far away - all who have been CALLED by the Lord our God" (caps mine). If you have struggled to answer Jesus' call, or even a call to serve your neighbor your church family, this message is for you! Join us and see how the Spirit speaks to you!
