"The Commissioning"

"I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that my salvation may reach to the ends of the earth" ~ Isaiah 49:6b

Have you ever sensed that God was calling you to a specific ministry? If so, when did you begin to sense it? Chances are that it began with you recognizing a great need. It's not like you were just going about your life oblivious to the needs of those around you and God suddenly flashed a sign in the sky for you. Those who serve in evangelism, healthcare ministry, prison discipleship, or even overseas mission work likely recognized a great need long before they ever considered that God might be calling them to meet it. The real question, then, for all of us, is how much of ourselves are we willing to offer up to God for whatever burden He's given us which He is calling us to address? Paul tells us to offer our bodies as "living sacrifices", essentially telling God, "Here I am, use me however you want to". This week at Friendship, we will look at "The Commissioning" which was the first of its kind in Acts 13. We'll see how the believers sought the Lord, how the Holy Spirit responded, and how the church partnered to encourage and support those who were sent out. Join us for a message that speaks to everyone of us regarding how we seek and respond to the call of God in our lives!
