"The Guarantee"

"And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days" ~ Joel 2:28-29

The promise of the Holy Spirit which was reiterated by Jesus to His disciples in the upper room the night He was betrayed and again right before He ascended to heaven actually came hundreds of years earlier through the prophet Joel. God's plan of redemption and sustenance for His people always included an age of His Son being in the flesh on earth followed by an age of the indwelling of His people with the Holy Spirit. But the people are too often convinced to look within themselves to try to find what is necessary to run the race and accomplish His will set before us. That was never going to work. Our Lord Jesus commanded us to be His witnesses, and the only way we can do that is with power that does not come from our flesh. This week at Friendship, we'll begin the new series AMPLIFIED in the Book of Acts talking about "The Guarantee" for the true followers of Jesus. If we are to amplify His message, we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and obedient to His will. Join us so you do not miss this important first message of many!
