Love Is Together

Nov 3, 2019    Reverend Robert Mattern

It isn't difficult to see that there is a shortage of authenticity in our world, and sometimes in our churches. It's easy for people to say whatever they want and try to control the narrative about them when there are no circumstances forcing them to prove what they say. This is one reason why, as Christians, we NEED something or someone to challenge us regarding our claims about loving God and loving others. True agape love can only be shown through sacrifice, self-giving, and humility. That means it requires us to be in relationship with others. The only way we can produce authentic fruit that reveals the love that is in our hearts toward God and others is if we build relationships with others and seek to do whatever increases unity among our fellow believers. This week at Friendship, we'll be looking at how love increases togetherness, not only in our homes and with our close family relationships, but also in our churches with our spiritual family. Whether you feel like a loner, are a social butterfly, or sense a need to build unity with others, this message will enrich your faith and love for others!
