Life

The Bible tells us in Genesis 2 that God formed the very first human being "from the dust of the ground". You know, there is really nothing special about dust. It's one of the most basic substances on this planet. It's not WHAT man is made of that makes his creation special, but HOW he is made. From the creation of the very first human, God has been demonstrating that He makes the special out of what is not special, the blessing out of the tragic, the glorious out of the mess, and the beautiful out of the dust. Human life is so beautiful, mysterious, and complex that no one but an Intelligent Creator could possibly make it happen. And He's made it happen with billions of human beings, each one having unique features and DNA. Despite this amazing reality, many of the very human beings He has created have rebelled against Him and determined that THEY, and not He, are sovereign over human life. This determination, they feel, has granted them the right to end life in the womb for just about any reason. The Lord is grieved by the loss of innocent life, and His Church must be as well. This week at Friendship, we are reminded of the sanctity of human life, and we'll look at how God reveals Himself to us through His creation of "Life". Join us and be challenged and amazed!
